Mass-spectrometer leak detector serves to test the leaktightness of various systems and facilities which allow pumping the inner cavity or objects filled with helium or a gas mixture containing helium, and the detection and localisation of leakage sites (leaks).
The leak detector is a universal automatic device allowing the pre-pumping as well as operation in mode of ‘direct flow’ or ‘counterflow’, with an automatic choice of optimal mode by the control system in accordance with the characteristics of the tested object.
The leak detector is an indicator device. The error of determining the leak value is not standardized. Leak detector is not subject to verification.

Portable helium leak detector

Portable helium leak detector provides accurate registration of the flow of helium up to 1^.10^-7 Pa^.m³/s (7,6^.10^-5 l^.micron Hg/s) when working in sniffer mode.

The leak detector has a mass of 0.32 kg, capable of operating from the internal battery up to 10 hours. Due to the minimal size of the channel the motion of the gas, the device provides the response time for the flow of helium less than 0.1 seconds and the recovery time after the measurement of flow less than 1 s. The device does not need time to prepare for the measurements, it is ready for leak detecting immediately after power on.

Portable leak detector has two levels of sensitivity that allows the operator to search for leaks certain flows. Mode low sensitivity can detect a leak of helium to 1^.10^-5 Pa^.m³/s, in high sensitivity mode 1^.10^-7 Pa^.m³/s.
